Hi,
This is my third year trying to grow tomatoes; second year in raised beds. I have a drip line in a 9' square bed with five tomato plants. The emitters are 1/2 gph. Each plant has its own emitter. What is the correct amount and length of watering? I have read so much and everybody says something slightly different. I also have a 30% shade cloth on during these high temps.
Thanks so much,

Hi Sue,
Tomatoes, when full grown, will usually need about a gallon of water each day - the larger the plant, the more water it needs. Or about an inch of water each week (if you can measure inches).
Is there a way to add another emitter for each tomato?
Also, be sure to monitor the soil and use your finger to gauge moisture. The top of the soil surface can dry out, but you'll want it moist about an inch down. You can also use grass clippings or weed free straw to keep moisture in the soil.
