Each year for the 3 years since we planted this lilac it has developed yellowing leaves that eventually brown fall off and the affected branches do not grow well - whereas the other half if the plant is green growing and healthy. Beed advice for now and next year.

Look for something that is affecting one side and not the other. Something in a small area of soil? Try a soil test.

Inspect the stems close to the ground. Rabbit or other varmint damage?
Herbicides being used in the area and they are drifting onto one side of the plant?
