Are blister beetles toxic to humans?

Hi Robert,

Yes, Cantharidin, the toxin in blister beetles, can cause blistering to human skin. The toxin is in the equivalent of the beetles' blood, they need to be damaged to release it.   If you are going to be controlling them in the garden it is safest to wear gloves, just in case.
