Apple Tree Dimples #876756

We have young bare root apple trees with their second season of fruit and noticed this year our kinder crisp and honey crisp apples have a dumpling forming on their skin. We sprayed for apple rust in the spring and haven’t done anything since. Is there anything we can do to help the fruit now and if not is there something we can do to prevent this next year?
Thanks!

It looks like apple curculio damage. Please see the link for control measures.
