Hi Ryan,
What are you looking for specifically??
I am a food safety educator. I provide food safety education for the people of Michigan through the Michigan State University Extension service.
What university are you getting your food science degree from?
The MSU Extension provides education. We do not provide money or scholarships for schooling. If you are looking for scholarships or grants, you could contact your local library for a book that lists the various grants and scholarships offered by organizations, industry, and educational institutions in the US.
If you have further questions do not hesitate toask.
Sincerely,
Christine Venema, EdD

Hi,
There was nothing listed for me to respond to. He did not clarify what his question was about.

Hi Ryan,
You might want to check with your academic advisor as to what kind of experience might be helpful to your program.
What area of food science are you interested in? Food manufacturing, development of new food products, prevention of food spoilage, consumer food safety, or research a specific food product or human disease?
Dr. Les Bourquin might also be helpful in identifying research that MSU is currently working on in food science. Maybe he could link you to the researcher in charge.
MSU Extension as I mentioned is an educational branch that take the research-based information from the university and translates it to useable information for the consumer.
It is too late this year but maybe next year you could apply to be an intern with the MSU Extension out in the field. Be on the lookout for research internships in January. That is when we get notification of the internship program's availability for the field staff.
Sincerely,
Christine Venema, EdD

Hi Ryan,
My suggestion is to talk to your academic advisor at Michigan State University about information related to your academic program plan for the development of new food products.
Another suggestion would be to call Michigan State University, Department of Food Science and inquire about if there are any research projects involving the development of new food products.
Sincerely,
