Our church in Rockford, MI is expanding and needs to remove 60 or so tall hardwoods (mostly oak, I think). Is there a way to find a company that may want them for lumber?

Hi Beverly,
Thank you for reaching out!
I would recommend contacting the Kent County Conservation District to see if they have a list of loggers in the area. Below is a link to the Kent County Conservation District, scroll all the way down for contact information.

Also, because these are oaks, you all should be aware of oak wilt. There is not risk of the trees being removed contracting oak wilt, the danger lies in the trees being removed causing damage during removal to the trees that will remain on site. Opening up a wound on a healthy tree during the growing season can put that tree at risk of contracting oak wilt, which is very hard to eliminate once it is established on a property. I've attached a bulletin about oak wilt to this message.
If you have any questions throughout the process, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you,
-Julie
