lawn weed id #876641

Hi, I have a low growing weed that grows in dense bunches throughout my back yard. I suspect it is immature Japanese stiltgrass since it gets mowed regularly. I found what I suspect is mature stiltgrass in an un-mowed area in dense bunches. I include a pic on an individual sample of that. I tried to pick the best 3 images allowed.
thanks for any help, Ken S.

Expert Response
Hi. Thank you for your question. I believe this highly invasive plant is Japanese Stiltgrass (Microstegium vimineum). This plant spreads easily over large areas limiting the growth of other plants. Hand removal, before the seeds set, is the most effective way to eradicate the plant in smaller areas.
