Plants that are attcked by Japanese Beatles #876639

Our townhomwe association has a large number of Wiegelia, Spirea, and Dogwood shrubs. Do japanes Beatles typically attack and kill those species of shrubs ?

Please note that dogwood and spirea are resistant to beetle attack whereas weigela is not.
