Times for watering flower gardens #876604

Hi, is it OK to water outside flowers between 3p-8p? How does nighttime rain affect the outside flowers and vegetables? I try to water before noon but am not always able to do so.

Hi, thanks for the question.

There are very good reasons to water in the morning but keeping the foliage dry is probably the most important.  If you have to occasionally water at different times, that's okay. Sure, there an increased risk of developing disease, but it is more important that the plants get water. Try not to wet the foliage.  Check out the following links:
