I have a flock of one rooster and 7 hens and all has been fine laying daily but since yesterday the rooster has been aggressive and chasing off a particular hen…not his romantic pursuit but to exclude her from eating or dusting with the other hens! Should I intervene?

If he keeps it up, you may have to. Either remove the rooster or prevent him fro bothering the hen. Make sure she is able to get food and water. Make sure there are perches for her to get away from him on.
