Propagating tree suckers #876546

I have a Princess Kay Plum that is several years old. I'm getting plenty of suckers the past couple years, and am wondering if they will grow into mature trees if I dig them up.
If so, would I keep a section of the horizontal parent root attached to the sucker? Would I stick them or water to develop roots, or plant them in some peat or potting soil? Any other tips?
It's a beautiful little tree, and it would be fun to have more in our 7 acre space. Thank you!

There are articles and videos on utube for planting the suckers. I have never talked to anyone who has done this. You wouldn’t be out anything if it doesn’t work.
Sorry I can’t be definite help! Good lucK!
