Hello Nancy,
That is a common true katydid nymph (Pterophylla camellifolia). Katydids are generally nocturnal insects that live in trees, where they can camouflage themselves as leaves to avoid predators. Male katydids rub their front wings together to "sing" to females, which are usually larger than the males.
