Raspberries Crook Co this summer #876334

Berries unusually small, many with :"tough" sections. The crop is prolific while small and seems to in some cases be pretty heavy for the branch. These berries have been producing a second crop for the last couple of years. As the second crop is on current year growth, I have left them to overwinter. They get a dressing of fertilizer (well aged) once a year. These plants have been watered (soaker hose) about once a week. They are established plants, the blooms and fruits are plentiful this year. Is it an insect that is affecting these or something else? What causes the dried sections and what should I do about it? Thank you

Hi,  This looks like sunscald on your fruit.  It can occur especially with the extended heat wave we are having.  You can try to provide some sort of shade cloth but it can be a challenge to mitigate.  Here is some additional information on it:
