Weeping cherry tree #876310

Asked July 08, 2024, 11:11 AM EDT

We have a dwarf weeping cherry tree that doesn’t produce fruit it is an ornamental but it has holes in the leaves and its seems to be struggling. Took some leaves to Grange Co-op they say looks like shot hole disease, told us to get a hold of y’all and see what can be applied this time of year since it’s so hot.

Expert Response

Cultural control
  • Do not allow sprinkler irrigation water to wet tree foliage.
  • Remove affected twigs during pruning if practical.
Chemical control
  • Spray at 50% leaf fall in late autumn to help protect leaf scars and again during the dormant season.
    • Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide at 0.5 to 2 fl oz/gal water.
