This Maple tree had leaves in the spring but lost all the leaves after a frost. New leaves never came back and now the trunk is loosing bark. I have enclosed a picture. Your opinion will be appreciated.

Thankyou for using Ask a Master Gardener. Unfortunately, there is a lot of information required to get an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan for as stately of a tree this one is. I would recommend calling a local arborist. An arborist can not only diagnose but can also treat if needed. Yo can find a certified arborist at this web address:

More than likely, the frost really stressed your tree and the tree could not fight any underlying diseases. Now theses diseases are rearing their ugly head.
