Hello. We bought an old farm along the S. Santiam just outside of Sweet Home. We have been battling the blackberry ( we met w/ a rep from the S. Santiam river conservation) and now have a big problem with burr cucumber. Any tips? We have sprayed with crossbow and have actively pulled them. We are trying very hard to avoid any cucumber production.

It is a common "weed" which is also a native plant in Western Oregon. You are doing the right things, hand pulling, herbicide application, and reducing seed production. You may also consider spot-spraying glyphosate.
