I have a large and healthy looking raspberry patch. Earlier they were covered with blossoms and pollinators. However, the berries failed to form. What could cause this? What is the best way to prevent it?

Expert Response
Did the blossoms simply fall off, or did berries fail to develop?
We'd need sharp closeup photos of the flower stems (fruiting laterals) that produced no fruit to determine what might have gone wrong. The following sketch depicts fruiting laterals:

When conditions are favorable, mold or other fungal disease sometimes affects berries at or about the time they begin to form. Desiccated remnants may be seen upon close inspection.

I think your suggestion that the rain may have been the culprit. The bed didn't get thinned out this year.

Excellent photo shows what we suspected. Thanks.
The rain after Minnesota's drought is a joy to us and our plants, but this aspect, not so much.

Is there a recommended treatment?
