Salvia Flowering Question #876116
Asked July 06, 2024, 2:35 PM EDT
Hello, I have three purple salvia, planted next to the house that come up every spring, with great healthy flowers, get a little over two feel tall with the flowers.
However by early June the flowers all brown out and I cannot ever get them to reflower in season. I cut the flower section down buy they do not grow up again. I notice salvias flourishing elsewhere into the summer near my neighborhood.
Could it be the species itself, maybe they don't like being next to the house, some other secret?
Thanks

It could be because of the species you are growing. Do you know what type of Salvia you have? If you don't know the name, do you have any photos from when it was in bloom? Do the plants receive full sun all day, or are they shaded by the house?

Thanks, it must be the species which I do not know, they just come up every year then brown out, despite watering. They get several hours of sun, some shade in morning unless from the nearby trees.
The cut back plants right now look fairly dry, spent, dull green so they don't seem to come back with flowers.
