Lesion on peach tree #876062

Asked July 05, 2024, 9:37 PM EDT

I have a young peach tree with a lesion on the trunk very close to the ground. It looks deep. I sprayed some Bonide in it in hopes of discouraging insect infestation. How can I treat it?

Are you able to upload a photo showing the damage? A photo showing the whole tree in its setting is helpful as well as photos closer-up that show the damage.

The link did not work.

If the damage is down low, it could be that your tree has peachtree borer (https://extension.colostate.edu/topic-areas/insects/peach-tree-borer-5-566/). To better diagnose the issue, a photo would help. Are you able to upload an image file (.jpg, .png, etc) rather than include a link?
