Expert Response

I just looked at your test report. All of your nutrient levels are high. How have you been managing the soil? Have you been adding large amounts of fertilizer, composted manure, etc.? If so, I would not add the recommended nitrogen, because nitrogen is probably also high. Following standard industry practice, we do not test for nitrogen because it follows a very complex cycle and the results may not be meaningful. Our nitrogen recommendations are based on the annual needs of the crop you are growing, shrubs in this case.

Soil there has not been amended by me but several decades ago I think it was a manure pile.

If plants are growing well, I would not add nitrogen (or any other nutrient source including compost) for the foreseeable future. If you start to notice lack of vigor or chlorotic (yellowing) leaves, that's when I'd think about adding some nitrogen.
