Ash tree stumps #875991

I have an ash tree that will be removed due to the Emerald Ask Borer. Should I remove the stump to ground level as well? Or, can something be done toa treat the stump so it can be used as a decorative element in my yard?

I am giving you a link to the Minnesota Dept of Ag publication.  According to that, the outer 1" of wood is where the EAB will be.  If that is removed (debarked), you can use the stump.  https://www.mda.state.mn.us/best-management-practices-eab
