quaking aspen leaf #875985

Asked July 05, 2024, 11:19 AM EDT

A stand of young quaking aspen have rapidly developed a problem. The leaves are turning brown and curling up. They appear black when wet but dark rust brown when dried out. There are spots across the leaf with the edge of the leaf most affected. I don't readily see sign of insects but rather that of a fungus. I've not been able to clearly identify the problem online and would like some advice before spraying. My yard has about five acres of aspen. The affected trees are three to ten feet tall residing on the periphery of the southeast corner of the larger trees. Thank you
