Yes, all types of wheat can be grown in this area. Soft white wheat is primarily grown in this area because there is a better market for it. 

A key difference between hard wheats and soft wheats are buyer's requirements for protein concentration. Hard wheats must have sufficient protein to meet the requirements of buyers. Before growing a hard wheat make a plan for marketing your crop, understand the protein requirements of your buyer, and make a plan for obtaining adequate protein.
