Tree in Anchorage #875829

Asked July 03, 2024, 2:35 PM EDT

Hello, My name is Anna. I'm trying to help a friend identify a tree in their yard. I'm hoping you can help or point me to someone who can. He lives in Anchorage right at the edge of the Turnagain Arm mud flats, but I live outside of Alaska. I'm not familiar with the Prunus that can grow there. I've attached a few pictures. I was thinking it's Prunus padus or Prunus virginiana. His concern is that if he has P. padus or P. virginiana the moose like to browse on his trees and he just read it can be toxic to them. Is there an alternative you could recommend if this is one of those species? Thank you for your time. This is a mystery I would love to solve. Anna
