Hi Denise,
I believe I left you a voicemail on 7/3 addressing this question. Your best bet is to treat the area with a product containing Triclopyr. Both Garlon and Remedy have this as the active ingredient. Another possibility is Crossbow, which is a combination of 2, 4-D and Triclopyr.
In all cases, read the label regarding grazing restrictions before reintroducing your horses to the area.
