Tree roots #875664

I have several Ash trees where sone roots have become exposed. Is that a problem? Should I try to cover them with dirt? The trees seem healthy.

Thanks for the question.

In most cases we do not recommend covering the roots with soil. This can create an unhealthy situation for the tree. A layer of mulch is a better alternative. See the following:
