Yellow leaves on Oregon grape #875573

Asked July 01, 2024, 8:54 PM EDT

These Oregon grape plants have seemed healthy for several years but now we’re finding some yellow leaves in among the foliage. They are shaded, but not watered. Should we be concerned and do something? Photo attached

Expert Response

Oregon grape is a remarkably tough plant. Partial sun or even full shade; avoid planting in full sun. The soil must be well-drained. High heat may cause some leaf scorching. Water as needed, usually about once a week.
