Dahlia diseased? #875566

Asked July 01, 2024, 8:31 PM EDT

My dahlia plant was looking so good and then the leaves started to curl and the coloring looks a bit different. Any ideas? Disease, stress, too much water? Will it spread to the others? Thanks for your help!

Thank you for reaching out to ask2.extension.

Could they have possibly gotten a touch of an herbicide?

Curled dahlia leaves can also be a sign of stress caused by temps, light, water and humidity.  We have definitely had a lot of rain this past month or so.

No, I don’t think it is anything that will spread.  I don’t think there is much you can do at this time.  Be sure to keep them watered and fertilized as the summer continues.  Hopefully they will pull out of whatever is bothering them.
