Can you send a photo of the insect? There are several insects that can be found on daisies, some that do damage and others that feed on the 'bad insects' . If you can send a photo that is at least 2MG in size, I can blow it up and identify.
It could be earwigs, but if you could send me a picture of the insects on the daisies, that would help. The Ask Extension tracking shows this overdue, but I had sent you an earlier request for a picture, which I haven't received yet.
Thank you so much for your patience! Hopefully at least 1 of these photos will be helpful

Okay, none of the photos were really clear but by the shape and size of the insect the one that seems to be causing the damage is called a pollen beetle, which is found on other many sun loving flowers. To control them, Ladybeetle larvae and adults will feast on them. You can always shake the flower over a bucket of soapy water to capture the insect, then they will drown. To help prevent in the future, you can plant certain plants among the Shasta Daisies such as marigolds, chrysanthemums, rosemary, and alliums close by (garlic and onions) As the pollen beetle is instrumental in pollination and many other insects will also pollinate, you don't want to use insecticides. The one blurred picture of the elongated insect I believe was a parasitic wasp. Not sure but again, avoiding insecticides in this case is recommended. None of the photos came through very clear. It may be the attaching process and not the camera operator:).
Thank you for the information. It’s going to keep me busy shaking all the blossoms in a bucket of water but maybe I can plant accordingly next year. It’s been a problem every year but this year seems to be worse. I’m sorry for the bad photos I agree, I think my phone camera has a bit to be desired! Thank you again for your time and the information.
Sincerely
Glad I could help. Now we just need some rain:)
