Herbicide #875492

Asked July 01, 2024, 12:51 PM EDT

Hello, I'm trying establish native landscaping. However, I am having an issue with non-native grasses. I understand that there are herbicides that kill only grasses. How effective are these and with a targeted sprayer, how close to my pond can I spray. Also, given your answer, can you recommend a product or an herbicidal ingredient? Thank you, Richard Hyams

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your question.

I am not sure what specific grasses you want to eliminate.  I did, however, find the following article on Japanese Stiltgrass which is a non-native invasive grass.  There is an excellent section dealing with selective grass-specific herbicides.  I hope you will find this helpful.
