In our neighborhood we would like to replace the Bradford Pears which line the street. Would Sourgum (black tupelo), Happy Days Sweetgum or silver linden be the best choice. We live in the Toledo area with sandy soil.

Our extension agent, Tom DeHass, who is a tree expert said each of your three choices would be fine. So, it's a matter of your personal preference.

I didn't realize that when a ‘Bradford Pear’ cross-pollinates with other trees, it reverts back to the invasive species Callery pear.
