Thank you for the photos. This looks like a moth, probably a Polyphemus Moth, that has lost all of its scales (the dust-like covering on moth and butterfly wings and bodies that give them a colorful-winged, fuzzy-bodied appearance). Perhaps it was old (they only live a couple weeks as adults) and attacked by a predator, since it's so unusual to see one missing this many scales. The antennae suggest it is male, since female moth antennae aren't this feathery.
