Dogwood Leaves #875178

Asked June 28, 2024, 8:28 PM EDT

Hi there, I have some dogwoods that the leaves are turning a reddish brown color and wondering what’s happening? Also, some of the leaves have some small brown spots and I wondering if there’s something fungus related or they’re not getting proper nutrients? Thanks for your help!

Expert Response

The browning on the tips is probably because the dogwood has gotten too much water. This will stop once the rains moderate. The leaf spots are also caused by fungus that is common during periods of humidity and rain and we have had lots of both. The reddish brown leaves often happen when there is a sudden shift in the amount of sun.
