Crab Apple tree #875144

Hello, our crab apple tree looks terrible this year with the rain. It had a nice spring blossom but over the last month leaves have yellowed and turned brown and fell off many of the branches. It is quite defoliated. The tree is over 15 years old but has generally been healthy. I don’t have any photos to share. I’m hoping it isn’t at end of life?

We are seeing a lot of apple scab on crabapple trees this year.  It is likely caused by the warm rainy weather. Compare what you are seeing with the following website:
