Attempting to identify a plant #875114

I have Wildflower Islands in my yard and this species popped up and my plant identifier says it is a northern evening primrose, but I have my doubts. It seems I've seen this growing in the wild elsewhere and my gut tells me it's a weed. Can you identify the attached photo? Thank you.

Hello David
This does appear to be common evening primrose , Oenothera biennis.
If you allow flowers to develop on one or more, it can confirm the ID.

It is a native plant and benefits moths as a nectar source, and some other insects.
