grass identification #875098

Asked June 28, 2024, 11:47 AM EDT

Can you please help me identify this grass? I think it is a fine fescue (creeping red fescue?). Thank you!

Oakland County Michigan

Expert Response

After looking at your photos, we believe this is creeping bentgrass. Creeping fescue's leaves are more narrow. The panicle seedhead does not appear to have fully opened yet.

Here is some information on creeping bentgrass that also includes identification features.
