Some of my young asperagus ferns growing under the canopy of mature ferns are turning brown and dying. Is there anything I should do or is this normal.

There are many different varieties of asparagus ferns which make it difficult to really answer your question. Asparagus fens on the whole are sensitive to light and humidity as well as moisture. Maybe the ones coming up under the canopy of the old ones are shaded too much?
Yes, it would be common for the new ones to show stress and die if the conditions are not favorable.
If you would like a more definitive answer to your question, it would help to add pictures of the plant you are referring to as well as the area where it is planted.

I think you've given me enough info, it sounds like it's normal for a few to die out. I'm in Anderson Township zip 45230. Thanks!
