Black or tar spot - maple tree #875067

Please confirm that this established maple tree has black or tar spot. I believe this is a benign or non-threatening issue. Thank you.

Hi,
I think this is actually a different but equally common fungal infection called anthracnose.  There is still no action needed other than raking and bagging fallen leaves to prevent reinfection next season.
