Good Morning Herman,
Thank you for contacting the U of M Extension Service.
Are the ants hurting your plants? First determine if there is a problem before you start applying chemicals. It looks like your plants are healthy.
As with any chemical, read the label on the Bonide to determine if you can use it on vegetable plants. I am not familiar with the chemical.
Please click on the following link from the U of M Extension Yard and Garden website about growing summer squash: https://extension.umn.edu/vegetables/growing-summer-squash-and-zucchini
The information on the Extension website is "research based". I am not familiar with all garden products as your peppermint oil product. Here is a link to an article about rodents in the garden: https://blog-fruit-vegetable-ipm.extension.umn.edu/2021/08/are-rodents-and-bunnies-nibbling-your.html
Here is another link about keeping animals out of your garden: https://extension.umn.edu/news/keeping-animals-out-your-garden
Good Luck!
