Our 2 honeycrisp apple trees are about 10-15 years old and they've always produced wonderful apples. Some years a lot, some years a little... but this year they did not even flower. They look healthy so I am not sure why they did not flower? Do you know what could be wrong and/or anything we can do to make sure we get apples (flowers) next year on our trees?

Expert Response
Apple trees and most fruit trees alternate heavy fruiting years with very low fruiting years. No fruit in an alternate year isn’t that unusual. Drought stress will also reduce fruit production by reducing the number of flowers. Your tree should be in good shape to produce apples next year because of the abundance of water this year.
