I believe this is a Dobsonfly. Are they harmful to humans, animals, or gardens/landscaping? Is seeing one indicative of others being nearby? I’ve never seen one before. Are they migratory? Where can they typically be found? How can I repel them without using harmful chemicals?

Hello Meena,
That certainly looks like a Dobsonfly. Dobsonflies are not dangerous. They are an important part of the ecosystem, in that their larvae feed on small animals and the adults are eaten by birds and bats. A bite from their pincers can be irritating.
