Is it safe to eat the vegetables from my garden after finding raccoon feces in the garden space? I have read that the animal feces can contaminate the soil. I am particularly concerned about the potatoes. Additionally, I typically give my abundance of zucchini to my children, one of whom is pregnant. Are the vegetables safe for her? Thank you in advance for your wisdom.

Following the advice "when in doubt, throw it out" is a good rule. Many of the pathogens can be killed through cooking, so if you have concerns, cooking the produce for your daughter that is pregnant will provide a layer of protection.
