Emerald ash borer trimming #874909

Hello, I recently had our ash tree treated with insecticide since it is showing signs of some emerald ash borer infestation.
We have some limbs that no longer have foliage and I’m wondering when would be the best time of year to trim these to a) maintain the health of the parts that are still growing and b) prevent and further spread in the neighborhood.
Thanks!

Hello Matt,
Thanks for reaching out! The UMN Extension has a great article on emerald ash borer in Minnesota: https://extension.umn.edu/tree-and-shrub-insects/emerald-ash-borer
Any removal of branches should be avoided during the emerald ash borer's active period of May through October. This will help prevent further spread in the neighborhood. Further information can be found in the article. I hope this helps!
Good luck!
