Is there a paper or brochure identifying milfoil and how to reat it? Folks on Nichols lake received a packet a year or so ago when they wanted to deal with the same problem. We're at the early stages of a milfoil invasion so it would be good to hit it sooner rather than later. Thanks.

There is a great deal of information available on Eurasian watermilfoil management. I'll share a few resources below. Beyond that, I would be happy to speak with you individually (telephone or Zoom meeting) to provide more customized advice. Feel free to contact me directly at <personal data hidden>.
The State of Michigan has compiled an excellent set of resources on Eurasian watermilfoil identification, management, and control options here: https://www.michigan.gov/invasives/id-report/plants/aquatic/eurasian-watermilfoil
We conducted a research study on the phenomenon of Eurasian watermilfoil hybridizing with one of our native species, resulting in a strain that can be resistant to commonly used herbicides. You can learn about that here: https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/identifying-and-managing-invasive-eurasian-and-hybrid-watermilfoils-in-michigan-lakes
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
