Invasive Plant?? #874829

Asked June 26, 2024, 3:08 PM EDT

Greetings! We live in the city of Grand Ledge on 1/2 acre lot. We have many garden beds including a wild area to encourage pollinators and support natural habitat. Please advise: 1. We are still battling invasive Japanese knotweed from a neighbor's stand that has not been removed. Any suggestions?? 2. We have a "new" plant that I never noticed before this year - that seems to be invading every area of the garden and growing very quickly - as high as 5-6'. I have pulled out many stalks, but as a "senior" gardener, cannot manage the whole crop! Is this Japanese hedge parsley? Can you identify and advise please!! PIX attached. MANY thanks! Barb

Expert Response

Good Morning,
Yes, it appears to be Japanese hedgeparsley.  See attached for mechanical/chemical control.
