Plant identification help #874805

Asked June 26, 2024, 1:15 PM EDT

Hello, My wife and I moved into a Minneapolis home this past fall. It's been quite fun seeing what plants have been coming up this spring and summer, as the former owners were involved gardeners. There is one plant that is crowding out several others and I've been unable to get any idea of what it might be. The stalk when broken open seems to have a hollow core to it, and the root system as seen in the attached photo is pinkish/red

You might benefit from "Picture this" a free and paid version app that identifies plants, not 100%, but close.
