Hoary Alyssum #874804

Asked June 26, 2024, 1:12 PM EDT

Calhoun County Michigan horse pasture. I am getting a lot of Hoary Alyssum in my hoarse pasture. White flowers bloomed. . Is there a herbicide that can be used safely in a horse pasture? A lot to hand pull. If there is what would recommended application amount be? How many applications and how far apart? With flowers is it too late to spray? I have not found anything that mentions Hoary Alyssum in lists of ones they handle. Don’t want to waste money if it won’t work. Thank you for your help

Resource: MSU Weed Control Guide, scroll down to forages, TABLE 4B — Weed Response to Herbicides in Established Forage Grasses provides several examples of what is effective in grass pastures. This guide also provides application timing and rates.

Always read the label to verify what/if any grazing restrictions apply.
