Considering planting this tree in/ near a spot where a diseased elm tree is being removed. Can I use existing hole ( stumps ground out) , or how far away can I plant it OR can you suggest a hardier tree?

Expert Response
Hi Carin,
You can plant the tree right where the old elm was. If you let me know your sun, soil, how close to pavement or structures and what general attributes from a tree you want I would be happy to make some suggestions.
