Autumn Olive Control #874589

Asked June 25, 2024, 10:10 AM EDT

What is current best practice for controlling Autumn Olive? Is there a particular herbicide that is most effective? Best to cut and treat roots or apply to foliage? Or better to uproot?? Brush Hog and mowing? Appreciate any suggestions as I'm losing the battle. I'm also dealing with invasive black locust and multi flora rose.

Good Evening,
This invasive plant is best controlled later in the summer as plants are getting ready for winter. I have attached a control strategy guide for you to refer to. Please read any herbicide label thoroughly before you apply. https://www.michigan.gov/invasives/-/media/Project/Websites/invasives/Documents/Best-Control-Practices/Autumn_Olive-BCP.pdf?rev=0e738ffc050e4e069ee376b3b3982259&hash=EEA5D5C591AFA490C2B751DB70C64D79
