Clear gelatinous piles in rose gardens #874559

Asked June 24, 2024, 11:58 PM EDT

After the rain in Clare Sunday night (6/23) I found seven 2” diameter piles of clear, gelatinous substance in my rose garden. I didn’t find any in the other gardens around the yard. Only near the roses. What is it? Picture included below.

Hello
This appears to be a clump of hydrogel, a product used sometimes by greenhouses and nurseries to hold water in their potting mixes to increase the water holding capacity of the mix. There are several different kinds, and different uses of these products.
